Billboard magazine has stated: "Brooks
Arthur can be considered a behind-the-
scenes superstar of the record industry...a
multi-faceted, self-motivated professional
whose career has spanned four decades."
Arthur has crossed paths with some of the
most vital and important names of the pop
and rock era. As an engineer and producer,
Arthur's been involved in some of the
seminal moments in rock history. Today, he's
still a moving force with his company, Brooks
Arthur Productions, taking his formidable
talents and working independently as a
record producer, music supervisor, recording
engineer, playwright, singer, and now, a
screenwriter.

landing part-time high school jobs in the
mailrooms of Decca and Kapp Records, and
he still considers David Kapp, Michael Kapp,
Milt Gabler, and Bob Thiele his primary
mentors. For Arthur, it was the door that
opened into a world that he and his
childhood friends dreamed of, friends such
as Carole King, Gerry Goffin, Neil Sedaka,
Howard Greenfield, and Neil Diamond.
During his stay at Brooklyn College,
Arthur began engineering sessions at
several different studios, including Dick
Charles Recording Studios, Associated
Studios and Mira Sound. In these studios,
where some exceptional talents were
sowing the seeds of early '60's rock, Arthur
engineered seven number one singles in the
proverbial wink of an eye: "My Boyfriend's
Back" by The Angels, "Hey Girl" by Freddie
